I've really enjoyed my Jeep for the past year(not even). But the truth is between gas/repairs and being a student, I can't afford to keep it. I'm going to be selling it near the end of summer and getting a new car/truck.
I would appreciate it if you voted or if you make a suggestion. Here is what I want/need.
-under $10,000(MAX $12,000)CND
-Gets at least 20 mpg, want 25 mpg
-5 speed standard(a must)
-look good, fun to drive etc..
If you vote "other" or want to comment about good/bad cars... please post.
Thanks for all your help in advance.
Pat
P.S. I'm leaning towards a S10-ExtCab,4 cyl,5 speed($10,000), and it gets 28 mpg(hwy)!!

Go for a Honda. It'll run forever with very low maintenance costs, good fuel economy, and some of them can be built to be quite quick.

Keep the Jeep or get a newer one.

Is there such thing as a Jeep that can get 20 mpg?
The problem is that my 13 mpg Jeep is going to kill me if I end up commuting 3 hours into Toronto for my co-op job.
I love my Jeep but I won't be able to afford it soon.

Jeeps aren't the best for aerodynamics and fuel economy.... kinda like driving a sheet of plywood into the wind. :) Mine is an 89 with the 4 banger and gets between 18 and 19 depending on how hard I push it.

I'll never be without a Jeep! Never! Do you hear me!!! NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:)
Your problem is that you live in Toronto. I enjoy visiting those in my family who live there, but I'd never want to return to live myself. Last time I was there the Don Valley was shut down, making getting to the 401 a backstreet affair along Lakeshore. Yuk. Took forever.
Plus it gets to cold for me. I'm spoiled to warm weather. Got the top and doors off of my TJ as we speak. :D

Seriously....
Hang onto the Jeep and pick up a Buell Cyclone M2. Under $10K, gets 50+ mpg on the highway, 5-speed box, and as for looks and fun -- no question.

Stick with the jeep, don't go to the dark side. Sell the old one, and buy a new TJ, if mechanical concerns take presendence.
