GEEZ,..what a stupid predictament im in....

I went and bought a dynomax muffler after hearing all about how they give u extra horsepower and what not. So then i also told them i needed then to get a new tail pipe. Im driving home and it suddenly dawns on me that they did not put on a 2.1/2" pipe,...they put on a stock tailpipe on my dynomaster muffler!!!!!!! I pulled over on the freeway to check again hoping my memory of what i saw was incorrect. It was correct..The Idiotic mechanic used some piece of black pipe to put in the muffler tube and then put the other end of the pipe over the tailpipe end and then welded the black pipe ends to the other pieces to create a secure fit. Im completely and utterly stupified over this. Whats more is i have to drive 45 minutes each way just to get to the place. Now granted i never said what size of tail pipe to use with the muffler Shouldn't they have known to put on the same size tailpipe as the muffler?? Or is it my fault by not being specific???

The mech may have thought that matching the pipe size before the muffler was added would make the most sense, but most likely they didn't think at all.

I would call them up and politely demand they change the pipe.

yah, i went back there today. They treated me as if i had caught them with their hand in the cookie jar. Everything was free. They gave me a 2.25 inch pipe and even welded back on a heat shield i had that was breaking off. I dont think i would have wanted to get a pipe much bigger than 2.25 because i hear that the 4.0's performance sucks without a little bit of backpressure

When i drove back home yesterday with the 1.75 inch tailpipe i had to use OD at 4-5 different times. Today after they gave me the 2.25 inch tailpipe i did not need it once. What an increase in performance!!!! :xj:
And too think i'm still waiting to get my Rusty's air tube and K&N air filter in the mail. I cant wait to see what happens when i put that puppy on!!! :beer:
