View Full Version : ZJ: Christmas in March...
Just got in a whole bunch of stuff for the ZJ the other day:
1) ARB bull bar (winch to come)
2) TrailReady rear bumber with swing away tire carrier, hi-lift mount, gerry can holder, etc.
3) TeraFlex S3Z system lift kit
4) JKS quicker discos
5) JKS adj rear trac-bar (to replace the tera brackets)
6) Rancho 9000 adj shocks (they were free, might not keep em, but I'll try them)
Sorry, I know this is sort of o/t, but I cant wait to install this stuff on my ZJ.

Thanks a lot! You've got me drooling all over my keyboard!
Sounds like you're in for some real fun! Good luck and...er...Merry Christmas! :D
Congrats ZAC! I know the feeling. I notice that you went ARB in the front. Don't you wish they made a rear bumper too!

Sounds awesome. Santa must be broke!! ;)
TXWJ: The ARB up front is great...Already used it! However, the TrailReady in the rear is one of the original RoadArmor ones....(before TR took it over) This thing is sick. IMHO, It's another league above the ARB.
The ARB would probably sustain some damage at relatively speedy impact, the TR on the rear....well let me say, I pity the poor SOB who rear ends me. The ARB was a one person install. I put it on in about 1 1/2 hrs (no winch). While it looks like the TR can be installed in less than an hour, there is no way I can do it by myself. It is just too heavy. I'll need two "strong" people to lift, shim and level while bolting it in.
While the ARB does offer some side protection by extending outward to the sides under the front quarter panels, the TR's sides extend out several inches more offering additional protection for the rear quarter panels. The underside is sloped upward giving great departure angle. The hitch receiver and shackle mounts are integrated up and into the bumper, thus suffering no loss of angle. The finish is matte, and bullet/rock proof.
Overall the heft and durability of the TR seem so much more than the ARB.
Boy, after I install full skids, rockers, the TR and a winch, I'm going to need the 3" Tera lift just to get back to stock height :D
Zac
