View Full Version : rubber isolators on coil springs, needed?
i recently bought a 96 cherokee. it has a mild lift on it and came with all the old parts in a box. i noticed that the spring isolators were in this box. do i need them? do they go on the top or bottom of the spring? can i just droop the suspension enough to put these on?

I strongly believe they, the isolater pads need to be in place. They merely stop the upward travel of the coil from demolishing your inner fender well. To re-install them you have to basically un-bolt the whole front end as if you were installing a new lift. Trust me, I know, for I was cheap and bought a Tera-Flex 1.5" budget Boost. I had to do all that and then some to get those buggers in. The choice is yours, ROKSURF
ok, so they are needed. do they go on top? it has a spacer in the front so does it go between that and the body or that and the spring?

It goes right on top of the coil.

Perhaps they were replaced with poly ones as part of the lift?
