:D

Hi, all... I just bought my Steel Blue Liberty this past Saturday and I love it! Its a loaded Limited Edition with more options than I could possibly need (heated mirrors in Arizona?).

I have a question about the stereo--does anyone know who makes it? Its the CD/Cassette w/Changer Controls. I got the package with the Infinity speakers and it sounds great for a factory stereo (just needs a little more bass). Was just curious who made the deck...

I'll attempt to post a picture here:

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Not sure about the deck with the Infinity speakers but all the others are made by Alpine. Unfortunately, they changed the interface for the 2002 models and the aftermarket has not caught up. At least that was the case last fall.

Have you looked at putting a subwoofer in? I've "heard" (on these forums) that the Mopar one is not too bad for an OEM product.

Congrats!

BTW- Check out the Arizona Virtual Jeep Club at www.azvjc.org
They have some good outings and appear to be pretty friendly people.

Thank's for the info... I have a small subwoofer from my previous vehicle and I plan to put that in.

As far as mods, I plan to put a small lift (1 1/2"?) on it down the road, probably when my tires wear out a little. That way I can justify putting one size bigger tires on it. Fortunately I got one that was manufactured in March with the original height. I was surprised but it was obvious that this one sat higher than others at the dealership. I didn't think you would see that big a difference when they lowered them.

I also need a trailer hitch, one of the few things mine didn't come with. It will be pulling my jet skis, and for those of you who have been to some of the lakes in Arizona, you know that can be an off-road event in itself (ever been to APACHE?).

Other than that, probably just a bug deflector and a few cosmetic things. I like it just the way it is!

Get a genuine MOPAR (Chrysler) trailer hitch. They have mounting hardware specifically designed for maximum strength with the Uni-frame.
Aftermarket hitches that only have a nut and washer inside the uni-frame do not give the same resistance to twisting forces that the MOPAR design does.

Good to know, thanks. I was wondering if there was any benefit to going with that versus aftermarket.
