dear tif,
how about you look before you leap next time.
it's hard for me to imagine a jeeper, and fellow colorado jeeper to boot just flying off the handle like that.
it's obvious you didn't do any homework.
how many items do i have for sale on ebay? ZERO
how many items do i have listed for sale in an online catalog? ZERO
how many banner ad's did you find on my website?? huh?
YOU have banner ads plastered all over yours. (that's cause yours is commercial)
i don't make a penny from any ads.
even my visitors can post free ads on my site.
nothing has been sold on my website in over 3 years.
my 600hours invested in webdesign is for the benit of websurfing jeepers. i make my living outside the jeep world.
my website looks professional because i made it that way, even down to my leaving a banner sized jpg behind to let others know about all the FREE information they can get from my site.
i should be able to freely post to a Tech board because my site offers 26 pages of FREE tech information.
i should be able to freely post to a General board because my site offers 14 pages of FREE general tools and info.
i should be able to freely post to a History board because my site offers 14 pages of FREE History of the jeep information.
if i can offer something to a board, i should be allowed to post to it, regardles if i had something else to offer a different board moments before. i have 89 pages total on my site, haven't made a dime yet on any of them.
next time please do 2 minutes of homework before you go off 1/2 cocked.

You haven't seen me "fly off the handle" yet. You will know when I do.
If your site is not a business site then I apologize for that, but you still spammed my board and that I do not appreciate.
Had you posted your info once that would have been fine, but when I find the exact same post in 3-4 different areas of the site that constitutes spam.
Sorry if you are unhappy with that, but that is the way it is. The rules are clearly posted and you agreed to them when you signed up.
Makes me wonder why you posted your info in the For Sale section?????

why did i post it in the For Sale section? simple, that where the people who are about to spend money are. Everyday i see people blowing a pile of cash buying what they think is the right part for their willys.
check out ebay. people are selling junk all the time, and some poor sucker who wants to restore his jeep, but has no where to go to get the CORRECT information on what the REAL part looks like, will just stuck buying the wrong thing. for example there were 4 different types of B/O light guards made for Jeeps (not counting 65+ other styles mfg. for other vehicles) (B/O = Black Out for those who didn't know). now if your new to the jeep restoration hobby, all you know is a tiny PIC in an old life magazine you saw at the library. there's one that kinda looks like it on ebay and the guy shells out $45 bucks for it. turns out it's a post war version, he needed the early ford type, or early willys type etc. etc....if only these buyers knew of a resource to double check with before he wasted his $45 on the wrong thing.
get it.
my post is totally appropriate for the 'for sale' post because that is where the people who are in BUY mode are located.
I'm trying to help some guy i don't even know save his hard earned cash... and you come along and squash it.
is it your intention to prevent good helpful information from getting to the people who need it? Your intention or not, that is the result of your actions.
why did i post similar posts to several boards? because i am not Santa Clause with magic powers to be everywhere at once. for me time is money too, and the information is good as i posted it. there are many many boards in the world, and i am helping as many as i can (in addition to running my own boards). it took nearly 4 hours to tend to all the message boards i went to yesterday, no one paid me for those 4 hours, so since i am footing the bill for labor, if i can write an appropriate post for more than one section, it saves me time,....... to play the other side of the coin.... if i make a completely custom post for all 93 message boards that i found, i might have gotten to say 30 in those 4 hours... which would leave the guys on the ones i never got to without the information they could use.
it's efficient the way i did it.
i reached as many people as i could with my offer of helpful info in the minimum amount of time needed to do it well.
i don't suppose you could repost my helpful notices you deleted could you? or didn't you back up files? or do you feel that your not in the business of helping the people who visit your boards get knowledgeable advice?

You sure are very full of yourself "resident professor of early jeep wisdom"
No I will not be reposting the post that were deleted...they were SPAM. As I stated before and will state for the last time...SPAM is not allowed on this forum!!!
If you think you are so full of knowledge then why don't you post some answers to the questions asked about early model Jeep restoration, not just put up post after post of "LOOK AT MY SITE!!!!!"
You have all of about 4 post on ILJ and are already breaking the rules here. The folks here will tell you that most would have been banned by now...but for some strange reason I think you may actually have some knowledge to share....you just haven' figured out how to do it yet.

and fellow colorado jeeper to boot
i should be able to freely post to a Tech board because my site offers 26 pages of FREE tech information.
Mr. resident professor of being an ***, kind of strange, the location you have in your profile says you are in CA. That must be a hell of a jaunt when you want to be a "Fellow Colorado Jeeper"
Now about this whole "i should be able to freely post" crap. This is a private board and freedom of anything does not apply here. Maybe you need to do your homework before you go off 1/2 cocked.
After reading your posts, you sure do sound like someone that is trying to make money off of what they do. Several times you state that you are not getting paid for your efforts. The rules are simple, and not open to your interpretation of them.
Buck up buddy boy and apologize to the lady and the users here. While T may not ban you, I sure as hell will. If you have anything to say other then your sorry, I suggest you leave and head over to JU where your crap will not only be tolerated, but accepted as well. Your current attitude will not be tolerated here. Got it?

Tell you what Brian. Why not take that vast technical knowledge of yours and answer some of the questions on the Wrangler, General Tech and CJ forums? Would be very interested in seeing actual, technical answers to some of the questions posed in those forums.
Go right ahead. We're waiting.
BTW - Last time I lived there, Lake Forest was about 30 miles south of Disneyland. Then again, it counts as more 'near' Disneyland than Colorado is.

Man, I see this fellow next harvesting e-mails to spam his site. The clue-by-four does not seem to be making a dent.

There is a very, very slim posibility that the posts were to drive a large amount of traffic to his site in order to draw in a few advertising dollars, but I agree with Tiff on this one.
And for the record, a little known rule that I live by is the everything before but is bulls#$@.
