Does anyone make a bad 1" body lift that i should stay away from? (like if steel whore made one) I am thinking about a 1" body lift to keep my tires from rubbing my flares and wanted to know what some good brands were. How hard is it to put on a 1" body lift? Do you have to do a lot of stuff like if you had a 3" body lift?

The Daystar 1" Lift Kit is very good. It replaces the stock bushings completely; so your worn-out rubber goes in the trash.
With a 1" kit, you don't need to do much at all.
1) Install the new "poly pucks." (Do one side at a time!)
2) Install the Radiator Grill Spacers.
3) Relocate the Fan Shroud by cutting slots where the existing holes are and moving the shroud down ~1".
4) Install the Transfer Case Linkage Drop Bracket to re-align the linkage.
Doing a 1" Motor Mount Lift at the same time makes Steps 3 and 4 unnecessary; and it helps align the drivetrain if you are doing a substantial suspension lift or Belly-Up skid plate.

Is there any alignment correction with the automatic shifter?

a daystar 1" body lift for a YJ is almost $150! why are they so expensive? what about the Performance accosories 1" body lift? it is about $85, about $65 cheaper.

I ahve installed and used (currently use the 2") both the PA 1" and the PA 2" body lift, and IMHO, they make a quality product that includes all the parts.. No cutting at all, they include "drop brackets" for the radiator, so that you *don't* need to do any slicing and dicing to the fan shroud.. The 1" kit is very easy to install.. The 2" kit has more parts, but is almost as easy to install as the 1" kit.

I thought I had read somewhere that someone does offer a MM for the 2.5L. Might be either Rusty's or M.O.R.E. Not for certain on this info though. :)

Try Currie
They have a motor mount and a 1" lift for about 175.00 for the whole shebang.
That's where I got mine.

I used the MORE kit... it's great. ProjectYJ has the MORE on his YJ, and loves it. I recommend going with the MM... it's makes life easier!

Body lifts are just cheap spacers. Manufacturers try to convince us why theirs is better but they're basically just a cheap piece of material that lifts the body up off the frame. These are not like suspension lifts where brand-name makes a big difference. I would just go for the cheapest brand that gets you the height you need. And an extra quarter-inch won't make any difference once it's in. I would just buy one from a reputable company, Performance Accessories for example, and be done with it.
