My insurance adjuster is wanting to repair this pannel. I agree with my body shop in that they can cosmetically repair it like new. However...because it is a structural part or the body tub it needs to be replaced.
What do yawl think???

Ouch. :(
If your bodyshop thinks that they can fix it without replacement, I'd go with that. If it will save the insurance company some money and not replacing it with a new panel is your desire, I'd point out the savings to the adjuster.

How in the he!! are they going to straighten that fold in the panel? Thats my question.
I had something similar to that in a truck and they replaced it without question.
And structural integrity is at stake. Future safety of passengers.
Just my $.02. (minus taxes)

Don't know who your carrier is, but, to put it mildly, I would not give your insurance agent the benefit of the doubt!!

The side panel, toss it and replace it. I wouldnt take a chance on fixing it. If anything have them cut that section out and replace it with a new one.
It looks as if you fire wall was pushed in. That can be pulled out.
In order to get the full strength back out of it, make sure they dont use putty to make it look straight.
Good luck

Crashed car never drive the same after fixing! Your engine looks like it's tilting more than 5 degrees or is that on perpose?
Ouch!

That kind of carnage brings a tear to my eye. I would want them to replace the panel if it were my Jeep, for safety sake. If you ever take another hit in the front, I would want fresh metal, not ironed. Sure, they may make it look pretty, but it will no be as strong as new metal. Best of Luck to you.

... to replace the darn thing. I would, no doubt. Man, I don't know body work, but I do know how much I pay for insurance, per year! So, with that in mind, don't be bashful, tell them to just do it!

I've been following your posts about this whole issue, and say that Jeep should've been totalled in the first place with all the damage it sustained! My guess is that since the adjuster has gotten away with this much, they're going all the way (and without the lubrication!) Since it is a structual and saftey concern I would insist that it be replaced. Especially if it is repaired half-*ssed and someone is injured or killed because of it, the adjuster, ins company, and the shop could be sued and/or brought up on criminal charges.
I say good luck to you. Keep us posted, I really want to know how this all turns out!
