Hi all, thanks for the great forums...
Just wondering, but I've got a '90 XJ and I'm planning a lot of different mods. I've got a welder and lots of experience, but I am having a hard time finding sources for steel stock... Like 2" x 6" rectangular tubing bumper stock), bar stock (track bar and ULA/LCA stuff), tubing (brush bar and/or roof rack, etc... Help!
Thanks, TGH :xj:

I'm over in western new york and have plenty of steel distributers. There has to be something in your area. You could try www.switchboard.com and do a buisness search for steel in your area to find one.

Well... I'm not sure where Work is, but there's a decent steel shop in Rifle, CO.

Time to dig out the yellow pages and see what is available where you are.;)
There are several metal suppliers in Tucson, and it sometimes takes going to a few different places to get what I want. Unfortunately, some items will be "special order," or you may have to buy a 20' section. I just bought a 20' stick of 3x5x3/16" rectangular tubing so I can build my rear bumper/tire carrier - nobody would sell just a 6' section.:(
You can also check places like http://www.onlinemetals.com - I just bought a 2' section of 2"x3/8" round seamless tube from them. Nobody in town had anything remotely similar. For smaller, fairly light weight items online ordering works well, but the shipping on the heavy stuff will be a killer. It was cheaper for me to buy the 20' section of the 3x5 than it would have been to order and have it shipped.

Thanks for the help. I'll go through the yellow pages this week, and I'll probably visit a few suppliers too. I may even be able to get one of our prototype suppliers to order something from THEIR vendors cheaper, and I'll just pay em back.
FYI, 6" front springs installed this weekend from Rustys... Awesome!.. Now I just need a set of 6" rear springs too...
