I just got my 4WD Hardware catalog today and was surprised to see that on the front they claim to be "The Leader in parts and accessories for 1941-1975 Vintage Jeeps"
A quick look through the catalog looks like they might have what you're looking for.

I live in Ohio and have had the pleasure of going to 4WD hardware store.(about an hour away)
Its a very cool place with TONS of stuff!
They have a part in the store where people have returned stuff or the products have scratches or what not and this stuff is considerable cheaper.but I think you can only buy that stuff if your in their showroom.

I use www.jeepdoc.com alot. Their prices seem to be a few dollars cheaper than most and the shipping is also cheaper.:)

I see that you have a '71. So do I.
I told you in a previous post that you should put in a 4.0L engine.
Forget it, it won't fit in a '71. I didn't know you had an Early ('55 - '71) CJ5 when I posted that reply. The front end of your '71 is too short for the 4.0L. In '72, the front end was made 3.5" longer, to accomodate the longer in-line 6 cylinder.
Now that I know you have a '71, I can tell you that your easiest swap option is a Buick V6.
The V6 was a factory option engine in these CJs from 66 - 71. A Buick 225, BOPC 231 (odd or even fire) or even a Caddy 4.1 will practically bolt in using stock components. Plenty of power.
What is in it now?
As for partsfor your '71, they are a bit harder to find than later model parts.
Your first place to look should be Carl Walck.

Since you have a '71, you will find that it has some features and parts and problems not shared with anything built after '72. Such as the dangerous Ross steering and undersized brakes.

Have I mentioned just how annoying that Dancing Smiley is while I'm trying to type a reply??
John, I'll be looking for you on the Early CJ5 board!

Check the for sale section as I've listed most of the parts that you are looking for and it's all priced very cheap as I need to get it out of the way:
A complete 2 1/2" Rancho suspension lift (shackles, springs, shocks, spring skid plates), all aftermarket and almost brand new, that will bolt right up to your jeep for $250. I've got a Buick 225 if you need one and I'd let the entire thing go (carb, new alt, new waterpump...everything in running cond ready to bolt in) for $350.
Just thought I'd let you know...

Don't get all the messages confusedededed. I am rebuilding a 71 CJ5 with the Buick 225 in it. That is already rebuilt. For the question on engine swaps it was for my next project, 1n 81-85 CJ8.
Sorry John, I was confused. For an '81 -85, I stick by the 4.0L swap.
Scorpion, you should post your stuff on the Early CJ5 board - For Sale forum, since that is your target audience for that stuff...
