I'm a Jeep Newbie building a pieces parts 73 CJ-5. Will a Ford 302/C-4/Dana 300 combo work in a stock lift 73 CJ-5 wihout much grief? ANY help or insight would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks JAC

You might be able to put it together with minimal effort and adapters, but be aware that the 73 came stock with an AMC 304, T15 3-speed and Dana20 t-case. Maybe that would be an easier route. The T15 is a solid tranny, and you could conceivably put a T18 in the same vehicle as well.

Thanks for the reply. I already have a 302 and a Dana 300. My Jeep is just a frame and some body parts so I'm hoping to use what I have on hand. I was just wondering of the combo would fit and not be too long. JAC

Check with Advance Adapters (http://www.advanceadapters.com) to see what will fit and what's needed as far as adapters.

You need to take some measurements. Autos need to be really really short for CJ-5's. What's the length of the C-4 and adapter?
