I don't mind them. By using them the page loads quicker and if you want to see the picture then you click on it. Just my $0.02

I tend to use slightly larger than normal thumbnails. At least 150 pixels. That way the pic is clear enough that people can get an idea what it looks like, but load times are still much faster than with full size pictures.

I agree with Chris, so you can actually see them before you click on them.

No larger than 100x100. And optimize them, I mean by reducing the number of colors and not posting .BMPs.

Nice site though.

When I am surfing they are great because you can cover more area faster (if I am looking for something specific). But when I go to a sight specifically for something, I would rather the whole page load than tiny pictures that I have to click on to see enlarged ones.

So for tech articles, I would rather the big photo be there. And for most anything else, thumbnails are OK.

Well I kind of a web dummy so I not sure just what a thumbnails is but from the comments I'm guessing there the little pic that enlarge when you pick them. If using them instead of the whole pic will speed up the loading of your site then I'm all for it. Nothing pisses me of more than clicking on someones site and having to wait what seems like forever for it load some fancy graphics that I don't care about. And I'm using my work computer. I can't imagine how long it would take if you where using an older home 'puter and a slow phone line connection.
