View Full Version : Driving with back glass open?

I realize the owner's manual advises against doing this because it can allow poisonous exhaust gases into the vehicle, but I've had to do it a couple of times while hauling stuff. I kept it below 50 mph. It brought back fond memories by reminding me of driving my Wrangler with the back window rolled up.
Anyone heard of problems with doing this? (ex, wind drag shattering glass, tearing up shock supports)

Haven't heard it specifically on a Libby, but similar incidents with other vehicles all include boken glass, usually from that nice bump that lifts the rearnd then drops it while the glass is still on the upswing. I suppose if you have to do it, the best solution would be to tie the glass in a partly-extended position and use a bungee for a little less shock. Just make sure the ends of the bungee are secure or they'll pop off when it's least desirable.
Oh yeah - Keep your front windows open and having the fan on (not on recirc) would be a REAL GOOD IDEA ;)
