Antenna that is! How and where did you strap down the front of it?

Radio Shack sells a little mount to hold the antenna down over the doors.

I did away with teh long whip antenna because it didn't work nearly as well as the 4.5' Firestik that I have now. I had a trucker at the truck stop where I got the antenna help me tune it and I was able to go home (about 5 miles away) and still talk to him with clear communication.

I will find out really how good the setup is for travel when I head up to Boise next month.

How did you tune your firestick? I have the same one and I don't get that good of reception. I have the same CB you have, the Cobra. I know the tip is adjustable but do you have to cut anything off of the antenna to tune it? TUNE ME IN PLEASE!!! Thanks.

Antenna cost me $17.95 at a truck stop

And I was able to tune it with the tuning tip...nothing else needed. Of course when I went to the truck stop to find an antenna, one of the truckers there helped me out and told me to come back and find him if I had any problems. Went back the next day, found him sleeping in his truck and he set everything up for me and I was able to talk to him the entire 5 miles back to my house.
