So, I am back from the Nags Head, I pics comin' soon. Anyway, my oil pressure goes down when I am idling and my idle is way low. Feels kinda jumpee but not that bad. Any suggestions?

How low is way low? It's normal to drop down to, say, 20 lbs. at a hot idle. I think idle speed should be somewhere around 550 rpm.

I've heard this problem is form using a oil filter that doesn't have enough flow. I had the same problem and switched filters and am know running a deusth filter with no oil pressure drop when hot. You may want to go with the mopar filter from the dealer.

Joel- the oil dropped to around 20 then when up as soon I drove off. I drove all weekend long, I felt like most of the weekend was spent in the Jeep. I could have had a hot engine.

Jeepur-Dealer stuff is way too expensive. I just had the oil changed when I left for the weekend and Jiffy Lube puts in Quakerstate 4x4, I think thats the company, for me at a little extra. Plus I just added a 50k protectant, kinda like Slick50, in place of 1qt of the regular stuff. My Dad uses it for his trucks in his company and swears by it.

All in all she ran good today. I believe it was just a hot, overun engine. I should get a 180 thermo to take care of that. Today the idle returned to stay at around 570 and the oil pressure dropped considerably less when I stopped as well. Thanks for the replys!
