Well, I went and lifted the TJ another 3/4" today. Thanks to you RICK and the post on the other forum, I found a great write-up on BLs and a cheap way to do it. Mine cost me $21.00. Yep, you read it right, 21 buckaroonies. :D I am having trouble with my 32s slightly grabbing my fenders at full flex and it is beginning to bow out the fender at the crease. This should fix it. :)
The write-up was posted by AKWrangler (here's the link: Cheap BLs (http://www.off-road.com/~lhsoo/yj-faq/yj-faq.htm) ) for the details on the lift. Thanks AKWrangler. ;)
I did the "boat trailer roller" BL. I bought a roller for $6.70 at the Chandlery down at the harbor. Then went to ACE Hardware and bought the longer bolts. I used 2" flat washers to place between the bolt head and the original body mount pucks. Bolts and Washers were $13.30. I cut the roller into 3/4" pucks by marking the roller in 3/4" increments and drawing a complete circle around the roller. I then took a sharp knife and started rolling the roller back and forth while applying pressure to the back of the blade where I marked the circle. After a few rolls back and forth, and all the way around, The pucks came out perfect. Today I finally got the chance to put it all together and it came out great. I did have to trim a good portion of the fan shroud off to make room for the fan, but I am gonna have some 3/4" MM spacers made to fit under the motor mounts and raise it up to original position. ;) Thanks for letting me share my story with you and Happy Jeepin'!
