Hi all,
since I sometimes use my Jeep as kind of a boat, I was always a bit worried about getting water in various gear cases or even the engine.
Here is a small part of my waterproofing campaign, where I add a vent line to the AX-15 transmission:

I think the pics show everything, so don't be irritated by the German description ... but if you have questions, go ahead and ask!

G'day Lauti - any reason you didn't just extend it straight up into the cab?

Hello Wooders,
routing the vent line right into and through the cab was just never an option for me. It would not have been very practical, plus such a rubber hose wouldn't have looked good inside my Jeep. 8O
So I routed it along the t-case vent line, up the firewall and put small and cheap gasoline filters onto the ends of the hoses.
My only concern is if the rubber material of the hose is heat resistant (the salesman couldn't tell for sure), but at least it's oil and acid resistant. :)

Hey Lauti, good job. :D
Would you mind if I put a copy of that on my website too? Of course you would be given full credit in whatever method you choose.

Sure, just go ahead!!! :D
I will just update it tomorrow and add another picture to that writeup, where you can see the filters on the hose ends.
Bye,
Lauti

I just updated that page and added this picture:

Ciao.Lauti
Edit: I have to admit that the way the hoses are zip tied to that connector plug is not perfect. I have to find a better way to secure them as high as possible and in an upright position to the firewall.
