I believe it is a 36mm. Lemme go check quickly (I have one in my Jeep!)

Yup. 36mm. Be sure to get 1/2" drive. I broke two 3/8" sockets trying to get mine off. An impact would really come in handy.

Thanks Jon. Good to see you are still alive.
Metric huh? Damn Jeeps. Half metric, half standard.

36mm = 1.41732283465"
No SAE size close enough to that. 1 7/16 is 1.4375", but probably hard to find that socket. I had no problems finding 36mm at the local Autozone in this poh-dunk town.

Yep I have two 36mm, one 1/2in and one 3/4in,
I broke two 1/2in craftsman breaker bars!! SO I felat bad returning two in one day so I on the third try bought the 3/4in bar and socket. a heavy friend, the oxy torch, and the stiffer 3/4in driver and it came eaisly off.8O

I bought a 1/2" from Napa for $25! I had to use my Hi-Lift handle on the driver handle to get enough leverage to break it free. Just another use for a Hi-Lift. Man those things are handy.
