reverse shackle

i have a friend with a 1985 CJ7 some one told him he needed to get reverse shackles for his 4" pro comp lift ....What does that mean??????? Thank You

A shackle reversal is where you mount the front of the front springs to the frame (where the shackles are normally located) and move the shackles to the rear of the front springs. M.O.R.E. makes a pretty good kit to it. It requires you to remove the old spring mounts from the frame and drill new holes through the frame for the shackles.
