I just browsed through some old pictures and found this one. I still like it very much:

Whoa! 8O I hope that water is deeper than it looks!

It looks deep enough, but water of that color is usually melting ice from the mountains. It looks absolutely freezing to me!

Nice pic, though. :)

yes, the water was very deep in that spot, 'cause it was flowing fast. it was definitely 1.5 meters, if not more. and yes, it is cold glacier water. during summer it never gets more than an estimated 15°C. in the morning hours of a mid-August day, it takes only 30-45 seconds until your feet get numb during brushing teeth and doing other body hygiene. it's definitely colder than 15°C in the morning, I guess around 10° to 12°Celsius! It's still fun, and you just need to wash yourself several times a day, 'cause the all the vehicles kick up a lot of dust.
Another problem for the vehicles is the high concentration of carbonate in the water. After our first vacation - or off road weekend - at the Tagliamento River I was too lazy to wash my Jeep immediately after we returned home, so this job got done about a week later. Now I have lighter shades of green and grey in the paint on the hood. The carbonate burnt itself through the clear coat and it's not possible to polish it out.
(one mechanic at the local DC dealership said, that those spots look like someone ejaculated onto the hood 8O )
