View Full Version : Locating replacement parts GC

I already posted at the Grand Cherokee forum, but no replies. Figured maybe the general forum might get a better lead.
I need some replacement parts, OEM/SAE for my 2001 GC and don't want to pay dealership prices for parts. I can do the work myself if I can just find the parts.
I need the front bumper and the grill assembly. Maybe more, but that's what it looks like without removing anything yet. I looked in the archives for other posts, but am coming up short. Dealerships always have a higher markup than other outside parts stores, so I'd like to find a supplier. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Come on folks. Nobody knows where to find new replacement parts other than dealerships?
I've been to a dealer and the bumper is about 5 bills and the grill part is about 2.
I know there have to be suppliers out there, but just can't find them.
Need some help if you got it. Or am I out of luck with these parts I need?

What about an auto wrecker? They usually charge 50% of new cost.

Most of the time, parts like that (specific to one vehicle and probably trademarked by Daimler) are going to be available through dealer only. The 7-slot grill is a trademarked Jeep item, and the few places that make aftermarket CJ grills do them under license. Grand Cherokees don't have nearly the aftermarket following that the CJs do, so the odds of finding non-dealer replacements go down.
Chris S has the right idea; hit a boneyard for parts if you don't want to go to dealer.

Go by a good body shop and ask them if their is a after market supplyer. Thats what I've done in the past

Yeah, I called a few bone yards and every one that had a Cherokee was smashed up in the front end. Just my luck.
I was just in hopes to find aftermarket producers of these parts. Not like my old CJ that's for sure. Parts everywhere. And when something broke, I'd build it better.
Thanks.
