Can anybody direct me at a write up on putting subwoofers in the back seat? I've heard of it being done, and I'm thinking about doing it...HOW????

I've never seen a write up, but the first guy I heard of doing it removed the rear seat, cut away two of the support bars on the bottom so he could get the foam out, removed the foam, built a box the same size as the foam, minus the small pieces that stick out to the side, cut the same small pieces off the stock foam, installed the small pieces, and installed the box into the seat.

Well if your putting a sub in that seems like a good place to put it since You wouldn't be able to see it. It would also add some excitement for the people sitting on that seat!

i had a friend that had this in his 280z and they sounded like crap. A good sub really needs a sealed enclosure with space in front of the woofer. Mouting the sub under the seat is one thing but in the seat is another.

here is a pic of mine. I raised the seat by 3" with the tuffy underseat drawer hardware. Yes it is a sealed box and the airspace is the right size

snowman,

Do you have any other (clearer, brighter) pics of your sub install? What size sub is that? What is the mounting depth?

I've been thinking about installing my sub in the rear seat also, but not sure how to do it. Any writeups/suggestions?

Thanks,
Matt
