Jagged Jeep

On Saturday was invited up to Hollister to go on a run with the Wine Country
Rockcrawlers. Nice people and some well built Jeeps. Anyway. Here are some
pictures: http://www.jaggedearth.com/jeep_pages/trail.htm There was some
carnage. The guy in front of me broke a link on his quarter-elliptic YJ
sending the D60 pinion and driveshaft into his floor. I had to winch the
pinion backwards to pull it down. It was ratchet strapped and winched out of
the trail. Also right in front on me a CJ fell into the groove that we were
straddling and ended up on its side and de-beaded a tire and had to be
winched back up straight. I made it through without any problems. I got a
chance to test out my new Teraflex long arms. I really like them. I
definitely have more flex up front. The rears on the other hand have a
problem. The upper part of the lower arms hit the frame limiting stuff. Tera
is taking care of this with some new lower rears. They say that Jeep isn't
very precise with where they put their brackets so occasionally they run
into a problem and have to send out alternate arms that are shaped
differently. Once I get those bolted on, I will be a happy camper. On and
offroad handling is much improved!
