Oil leak 98 Grand Cherokee 318 V8

I have just noticed an oil leak started on my jeep. It seems to be coming from the rear of the engine higher up between the oil pan and bell housing. Does anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this leak and a possible repair?

Sounds like the same thing I have on my 2000 5.2L Ram, The dreaded REAR MAINSEAL LEAK..............make sure your oil sending unit is not leaking, or your intake along the back, also check your valve covers, but if your luck is anything like mine, get ready for a messy job............I'd do mine now if it was'nt 5 deg outside, it can wait till spring.

that's kinda what i was thinking, wanted input from others. some easier things to look at b4 i go tearing my jeep apart. that you for your input -Andy

So did you find out what was the cause for which the oil was leaking from the jeep.is the problem solved now?
