hurt 97 Wrangler ignition wiring

Does anyone know where I can get a detailed wiring diagram for the ignition to my 97 Wrangler? I had a security system put on when I bought the rig new in 97. It has gone bad and I want to remove it but I need to see what the origional wiring looked like. Help!!

Re: 97 Wrangler ignition wiring

You can try checking a Haynes or Chilton manual - they normally have wiring diagrams, but I'm not sure how detailed it will be for what you're looking for. Ideally, finding someone with a '97 factory service manual would be best.

Before purchasing a Haynes or Chilton manual, check your local public library. They normally have a pretty good selection of vehicle repair manuals, and you may be able to photocopy the pages you need to see if that will help before forking out the money on purchasing one.

Where in Arizona are you?

Re: 97 Wrangler ignition wiring

Tried the Haines and Chilton route, not detailed enough. Will try library, Had 't thought of that. I live in Gold Canyon but my son uses the Jeep in Mesa. Thanks again for the ideas.

I seriously doubt the library will have a factory service manual, but sometimes they do have manuals specifically for wiring diagrams. Maybe you'll luck out there....

You can probably find someone in the Mesa area that has a 1997 FSM on here:
